Angels

1. Comforting Angels

An Angel kissed my tears away
today when I was sad
I wasn't feeling quite myself
my day had been so bad
I felt a warmth brush by me
that quickly dried my tears
A gentle, kind, and loving touch
that seemed to hold me near.
Immediately, I felt so much better
and the day seemed brighter too
I guess that's just the way you feel
when an Angel comforts you.

2. The Dawning Light

Our principles, our guidelines, we use them all each day.
The Angel friends who gave them help us to show the way,
To God who is our Father, who loves us all He can.
And we should love each other - the Brotherhood of Man.
We have a sweet communion with Spirit friends above.
The ministry of Angels, who always come with love.
They guide us and they teach us, on them we can rely.
Our souls live on forever, for we will never die.
Each person is responsible for how they live their life.
Your retribution you will gain, for evil and for strife.
Pure Love and Truth and Goodness we all should strive towards.
The loving compensations will be your just reward.
We know eternal progress each human soul will gain,
If we adopt these principles and from all ill refrain.
Interpret them with liberty, be logical and true.
Your Angel guides and helpers will always be with you.

3. Angels

Angel's are often sent from the heavens up above,
To guide us and protect us with unsuspecting love
Others are planted - here- on earth for us to see, and
Walk us down life's pathways -where ever they may lead
They help us with decisions, we must make along the way
And wake us with little kisses at the dawn of each new day
They're always right beside us to help us though the night
Our very own guardian angel our little guiding light.
They make us smile with their laughter
They wash away our pain
So if you ever need to call on one ( mother ) is her name

Babies & Children

1. Why God Made Little Girls

God made the world
with its towering trees
Majestic mountains
and restless seas
Then paused and said,
" It needs one more thing
Someone to laugh and dance and sing
To walk in the woods and gather flowers
To commune with nature in quiet hours."
So God made little girls
With laughing eyes and bouncing curls
With joyful hearts and infectious smiles
Enchanting ways and feminine smiles,
And when He'd completed
the task He'd begun
He was pleased and proud
of the job He'd done
For the world, when seen
through a little girl's eyes
Greatly resembles Paradise.
Author unknown

2. Guardian Angel Baby Prayer

Sleep little baby and dream.
As you do,
God's little angels
will watch over you.
And though you are new
and too tiny to pray,
God's gentle love
Will be with you each day.

3. Keepsake Bonnet Poem

I'm just a little hankie
As square as square can be
But with a small stitch or two
A bonnet I will be.
I'll be worn from the hospital
Or on my christening day
And after that be folded
Then carefully put away.
When on that future wedding day
So we've been always told
The well dressed bride must always
Wear something that is old.
So what could be more fitting
Then to find little me
And with a few fine stitches snipped
A wedding hankie be.
And if perchance it's a boy
Someday he'll surely wed
Then his bride can have the hankie
Once worn upon his head.
author unknown

4. Heirloom Blessing Bonnet

A special little hanky
Of cotton pure and white
Becomes a blessing bonnet
When stitched and fashioned right.
Once worn upon a precious head
Then carefully tucked away
With stitches freed, is used again
For good luck on the wedding day.

5. Irish Baby Blessing

May all the blessing of our Lord touch your life today...May He send His little angels to protect you on your way...Such a wee little fit, sent from above...Someone so precious to cherish and love...May sunshine and moonbeams dance over you head...As you quietly slumber in your bed...May good luck be with you wherever you go...And your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow.

6. An Irish Blessing

" Welcome, Little One! May strong arms hold you
Caring hearts tend you and may love await you at every step."

7. A Baby is a Miracle

This little tiny baby
Was sent from God above
To fill our hearts with happiness
And touch our lives with love
He must have known
We'd give our all
And always do our best
To give our precious baby love
And be grateful and so blessed

8. Untitled

Precious one,
So small,
So sweet
Dancing in
on angel feet
Straight from Heaven's
brightest star
What a miracle
you are!

9. Why God Made Little Boys

God made the world out of His dreams
Of magic mountains, oceans and streams,
Prairies and plans and wooded land,
Then paused and thought “I need someone to stand
On top of mountains, to conquer the seas,
Explore the plains and climb the trees.
Someone to start out small and to grow,
Sturdy, strong as a tree…” And so,
He created boys, full of spirit and fun,
To explore and conquer, to romp and run.
With dirty faces and banged up chins,
With courageous hearts and boyish grins.
When He had completed the task He’d begun
He surely said “A job well done”

10. A Chosen Child

You’re a chosen child. You’re ours, but not by birth. But just the same, we feel. You’re the greatest child on earth. You’re a chosen child send down from God above. Chosen to fill our home with laughter and love. You’re a chosen child. You’ve given us so much pleasure. Chosen above the rest. A precious, priceless treasure.

11. My Mother's Garden

My Mother kept a garden,
a garden of the heart,
She planted all the good things
that gave my life it's start.
She turned me to the sunshine
and encouraged me to dream,
Fostering and nurturing
the seeds of self-esteem...
And when the winds and rain came,
she protected me enough--
But not too much because she knew
I'd need to stand up strong and tough.
Her constant good example
always taught me right from wrong--
Markers for my pathway
that will last a lifetime long.
I am my Mother's garden.
I am her legacy-
And I hope today she feels the love
reflected back from me
Author unknown

12. Babies

Cleaning and cooking can wait 'till tomorrow
For babies grow up, as we've learned to our sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs, dust go to sleep,
I'm rocking my baby, and babies don't keep.

Christian Poems & Sayings

Most scriptures are listed in the Scripture page. Note that most Bible versions have a copyright. Therefor scriptures are used from the Kings James 1611 version. Holy Bible, King James 1611 View our collection of Scriptures.

1. If I can cheer some lonely heart; As down through life I go. And plant a little spark of hope; In some sad heart to glow. And think my life worth while; If by some word or deed of mine, is born a sunny smile.
If I can find some kindly deed; That my weak hands can do. To lift the burden of someone; That's long been sad and blue. I could forget my burdens Lord; And smile beneath my cross. If I can only point the way; to others who are lost.
If I could only rub some balm; on all the broken hearts. The peace and happiness I've found; To others could impart. Then all my shackles Lord, would fall and I would be so free; And the smiles that I from others win, I will dedicate to thee.

3. A Prayer

Give unto us, Oh God we pray; The strength we need from day to day. Help us to be strong brave and true; Oh guide us Lord in all we do.
May we our needs to thee confess; Look down Oh Lord, we pray and bless. Keep thou our hearts within thy clasp; Until our span of life has passed.
Hear then the prayer for those we love; And guide their lives from up above. Give them the faith to face each task; All this we humbly in thy name ask.
We give thee thanks for all life's worth; For joy for work for happy mirth. For strength and love and thee to praise; For thy sweet guidance through our day.
And now Oh Lord again we pray; Bless thou our lives from day to day. Oh keep us ever in thy hand; And lead us to that promise land.

4. God Bless My Friends

God bless the friend who overlooks;
The many faults in me.
Who loves me for myself;
And for the things I could be.
Whose tender heart and thoughtful ways;
Add so much pleasure to my days.
God bless the friends who see my needs;
And reaches out a hand.
Who lifts me up, who prays for me;
And helps me understand.
Who shares my problems come what may;
Who's always there from day to day.
God bless the friend, who laughs with me;
And make the Sun to shine.
Who helps me see life's goodness;
And the blessing that are mine.
That friendship is a special part;
Of all that's precious to my heart.

5. TEACH ME OBEDIENCE, LORD

If there is nothing Lord; That I can do for thee today. May I be careful not to stand; Where I block another's way. For thy fields are white with harvest; And the laborers are few. Teach me not to hinder others; When there's nothing I can do.
If I harvest strength Dear Lord; To reap as I have dreamed. May I be content to walk; Behind with Ruth and gleam. For there are many fallen ones; Along the road of life. Who need someone to lift them up; And point them to the right.
Just keep my heart in tune with thee; That I may know thy will. Whither I'm called to serve Lord; Or caution to be still. Just make my life a channel; Through which thy love may flow. To light the way for others; As down though life I go.

6. A NEW YEAR'S PRAYER

We thank the Lord, for the glad new year; With it's pages so fair and white. And as we crass each spotless page; Guide thou our steps aright.
Each day a new leaf is turned; A record of which we make. And may there be some golden deeds; Among our vast mistakes.
May we strive each day to do; Some deed of love for thee. For when the book at last is sealed; No chance there will be.
By our deeds we'll be judged by and by; When our record is read in the end. Tis the good deeds that will justify; But the bad ones that will condemn.
May we a better record make; In ninety eight for thee. And lay more trophies at thy feet; Of souls, we've won for thee.

7. Grateful

Let us be grateful
for the capacity to see, feel, hear, and understand.
Let us be grateful for this incredible gift of life.
Let us be especially grateful
for the ties of love which bind us together,
giving dignity, meaning, worth and joy to all our days.
This is indeed a day which the Lord has made.
Let us rejoice in it and be glad,
and let us count our many blessings.

8. The Prayer

~ By St. Francis of Assisi ~
Lord, make
us instruments of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let us sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is discord, union;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, Grant that we may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

9. Take Time ....And

Take time to pray ....And it helps to bring God near ....And washes the dust of earth from your eyes.
Take time for friends ....And they are the source of happiness
Take time for work ....And it is the price of success.
Take time to think ....And it is the source of power.
Take time to read ....And it is the foundation of knowledge.
Take time to laugh ....And it is the singing that helps with life's loads.
Take time to love ....And it is the one sacrament of life.
Take time to dream ....And it hitches the soul to the stars.
Take time to play ....And it is the secret of youth.
Take time to worship ....And it is the highway to reverence.

10. Thinking of You

This morning when I awakened; And saw the Sun above. I softly said, Good morning Lord; Bless everyone I love.
Right away I thought of you; And said a loving Prayer. That He would bless you specially; And keep you free from Care.
I thought of all the Happiness; A day could hold in store. I wished it all for you, because; No one deserves it more.
I felt so warm and good inside; My heart was all aglow. I know God heard my prayers for you; He hears them all you know.

11. The Weaver

by Anonymous
My life is but a weaving, between my God and me,
I do not choose the colors, He worketh steadily.
Oft times he weaveth sorrow, and I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper, and I the underside.
Not till the loom is silent, and the shuttles cease to fly,
Will God unroll the canvas, and explain the reasons why
The dark threads are as needful in the skillful weaver's hand
As threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned.
He knows, He loves, He cares,
Nothing this truth can dim.
He gives His very best to those
Who leave the choice with Him.

12. Rejoice! It's Easter

Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled
Let not your soul be sad
Easter is a time of joy
When all hearts should be glad.
Glad to know that Jesus Christ
Made it possible for men
To have their sins forgiven
And, like Him, to live again.
So at this joyous season
May the wondrous Easter Story
Renew our Faith so we may be
Partakers of "His Glory!"

13. Mother's Prayer

Dear Lord, it's such a hectic day,
With little time to stop and pray,
For life's been anything but calm,
Since you called on me to be a mom.
Running errands, matching socks,
Building dreams with building blocks.
Cooking, cleaning, and finding shoes,
And other stuff that children lose.
Fitting lids on bottled bugs,
Wiping tears and giving hugs.
A stack of last week's mail to read,
So where's the quiet time I need?
Yet when I steal a minute Lord,
Just at the sink or ironing board,
To ask the blessings of your grace,
I see then in my small one's face,
That you have blessed me all the while,
As I stop to kiss that precious smile.

14. Mama's Bible

Author Unknown
Mama's Bible, so ragged and worn,
Its pages are scribbled, ripped and torn.
Its been around for ages, she's had it for years,
Some pages smudged by rain and some by her tears
The name on the cover is faded, it's true.
There might be a page missing, or two.
To look at that book one might scoff and frown
They may say, "Why, there's no use in keeping it around.
" A new Bible, I'm certain, is what you must need,
With pages so perfect, and pictures indeed."
But friends, I know better and I'm here to persuade'
There's more in that ol' book, more than I can say.
For she read it and held it so close to her heart,
Its Knowledge and Wisdom and Love to impart.
She held it so tightly, through storm and through chill,
But ever much closer when her children were ill.
Her faith can be seen on each page and each line,
Her writings of love time after time.
She carried it high through thick and through thin,
So proud of the holy scriptures contained within.
Of all of the treasures in this world we can hold,
The Bible of mom so ragged and old.
Is far more precious than any other,
For it was given to her by her dear mother.
No memory is more precious, none that I hold so dear,
When the storms of my life bring me much fear
The vision of mother, the love on her face . . .
I remember when mama would sing "Amazing Grace"!

15. She Shall be Praised

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth no the bread of idleness.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
Give her the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.- Proverbs 31: 10, 25-31

15-b
Up Calvary's Mountain

Up Calvary's mountain one dreary morn,
Trudged Christ our Savior weary and worn.
They came to the mount, the place of the skull.
It was there Jesus paid our debt in full.
As He hung on the cross and died a cruel death,
He said, "Father, forgive them," and with a fleeting breath,
It was finished and as Jesus gave up His ghost
A victor's song was sung by a heavenly host.
Jesus was laid to rest in a borrowed tomb
But the grave couldn't hold Him, there was no room.
He arose, He arose, let's praise His sweet name.
He loves us so; we're the reason He came.
Salvation is free, it is a gift from above.
God gave us His son because of His love
He bought us, redemed us and set us all free.
As He gave His life there on Calvary.

16. Jelly Bean Prayer

Red is for the blood He gave,
Green is for the grass He made,
Yellow is for the sun so bright,
Orange is for the edge of night.
Black is for the sins that were made,
White is for the grace He gave,
Purple is for the hour of sorrow,
Pink is for the new tomorrow.
A bag full of Jelly beans,
Colorful and sweet,
Is a Prayer...is a promise...
Is an Easter treat!

17. The Peace of God

The peace of God that passes all understanding
keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge
and love of God and of this Son Jesus Christ:
and the blessing of God Almighty,
the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
be upon you and remain with you always.
The Lord bless you and keep you:
The Lord make his face to shine upon you,
and be gracious to you,
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you,
and give you peace.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
Amen

18. Peace

Close your eyes and open your heart
Relax and let your worries depart;
Know that the Father is caring for you
Giving you strength to carry you through.
Ask for His guidance as you live each day
Trusting in Him to show you the way;
Soon you will find your worries all cease
Bringing you joy through God's perfect peace.

18- b

God must have known there would be times
We'd need a word of cheer
Someone to praise a triumph
Or brush away a tear.
He must have known we'd need to share
The joy of "little things"
In order to appreciate
The happiness life brings.
I think he knew our troubled hearts
Would sometimes throb with pain
At trials and misfortunes
Or some goals we can't attain.
He knew we'd need the comfort
Of an understanding heart
To give us strength and courage
To make a fresh, new start.
He knew we'd need companionship
Unselfish...lasting...true,
And so God answered the heart's great need
With a CHERISHED FRIEND....like you.

19. We Said a Prayer

We said a prayer for you today
and know God must’ve heard,
We felt the answer in our hearts
although He spoke no words.
We didn’t ask for wealth or fame,
We knew you wouldn’t mind.
We asked him to send treasures
of a far more lasting kind.
We asked that he be near you
at the start of each new day.
To grant you health & blessings
and friends to share your way.
We asked for happiness for you,
In all things great and small.
But it was for His loving care,
we asked the most of all!"

20. Giving Thanks

We do not see the wind,
We only hear a sigh:
It makes the grasses bend,
Whenever it goes by.
We do not see God's love,
But in our hearts we know,
He watches over us,
Wherever we may go.
We do not have to see
To know the wind is here;
We do not have to see
To know God's love is near.

21. Christ is the head of this House, the unseen guest at every meal, the silent listener to every conversation.

22. God bless this apartment. ( condo) (cabin) (office) (shop) (home) etc.

23. Bless this house, O Lord we pray. Make it safe by night and day.

24. Lord, make the door of this house wide enough to receive all who need love, narrow enough to shut out all will breed hate; make the threshold smooth enough to be no stumbling block to children, rugged enough to turn back evil. Lord, make the door of this house the gateway to your love.

25. God Bless This Home May its windows catch the sun and its doors open wide to friends and loved ones. May each room resound with laughter and may the walls shut out troubles and hold in warmth and cheer. May this home be filled with joy in the morning and sweet dreams in the night. May it be a home where love has come to live…. where Jesus Christ is Lord.

26. Untitled Poem
For every single child of God,
there is a secret place
where we can go to hide and pray,
and seek our Father's face.
A place where no one else can tread
where no one else can go,
we find there grace and solitude,
and peace for our weary soul.
We fold our hands and close our eyes,
as we kneel before the Lord,
in the closet of our mind we step,
inside and close the door.
We pray according to His will,
and ask in Jesus' name,
we know our Father hears us,
for His Word says just the same.
We ask the Lord to heal the sick,
to bless the broken hearted,
have mercy on the sinner's soul,
and peace to the just departed.
We pray "dear Lord please hear my cry!,
I'm praying now for others,
I've never seen or met them but,
they're my sisters and my brothers.
And Lord you know the special need,
that binds their lives today,
please bless them Lord and heal them all,
In Jesus' name we pray.
And for the ones unsaved Oh Lord,
we pray a special prayer,
please lead and guide and keep them,
in your tender loving care.
Lord send them Heaven's Angels
to soften their hearts of stone,
and give them peace inside Lord,
and save their precious souls.
And for the ones who hate you
with bitterness and disdain,
who curse their very souls Lord,
when they take your name in vain.
We pray Lord please have mercy,
and shower them with grace,
forgive them of their sins Lord,
In Jesus' name we pray.
And Father pave the way for me,
to touch someone today,
to help them come to know you,
in that very special way.
That you loved the world so much you gave,
your Son on the cross to die,
that you wish for no one to perish,
but for all everlasting life.
We pray for the ones who pray for those,
who have a special need,
we ask you Lord to bless them all,
As they pray on bended knee.
In the lives of those they're praying for,
we ask you to provide,
all things the soldiers ask in prayer,
please hear their humble cry.
In Jesus' name we ask today,
according to Thy perfect will,
doubting not we now believe
as we give we shall receive.
Thank you Father for your Love,
your Mercy and your Grace,
thank you for this time of prayer,
to seek your righteous face.
We praise you Lord and love you,
we glorify your Holy name,
and we thank you Holy Spirit,
we're so joyful that you came.
Now as we go about our way,
let us share the joy you give,
let us sing with happy heart and soul,
within us your Spirit lives.
We ask according to thy will,
In Jesus' name we send,
this prayer to you on angels' wings,
Amen Oh Lord Amen.

27. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)

There is a season for everything, a time for every occupation under heaven.
A time for giving birth, A time for dying,
A time for planting, A time for uprooting what has been planted.
A time for killing, A time for healing;
A time for knocking down, A time for building.
A time for tears, A time for laughter;
A time for mourning, A time for dancing.
A time for throwing stones away, A time for gathering them up;
A time for embracing, A time to refrain from embracing.
A time for searching, A time for losing;
A time for keeping. A time for throwing away.
A time for tearing, A time for sewing;
A time for keeping silent, A time for speaking.
A time for loving, A time for hating;
A time for war, A time for peace.
(Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)

28. Guardian Angel

Guardian Angel from heaven so bright,
Watching beside me to lead me aright,
Fold thy wings round me, and guard me with love,
Softly sing songs to me of heaven above. Amen.

29. (John 14:1-3)

Let not your hearts be troubled;
believe in God, believe also in me.
In my father's house are many rooms;
if it were not so, would I have told you
that I go to prepare a place for you?
And when I go and prepare a place
for you, I will come again
and I will take you to myself,
that where I am you may be also.
John 14: 1-3

30. Serenity Prayer

God grant me the Serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change,
Courage to change
the things I can,
And Wisdom to know
the difference.

31. Dear Lord

So far today I've done all right.
I haven't gossiped,
haven't lost my temper,
haven't been greedy,
grumpy, nasty, selfish
or over-indulgent.
I'm very thankful for that.
But in a few minutes, Lord,
I'm going to get out of bed.
From then on,
I'm probably going to,
need a lot of help.
Amen

32. Dear God, please send me somebody who'll care! I'm so tired of running and sick with despair. My body is aching and filled with such pain; And dear God I pray, as I run in the rain That someone will love me and give me a home, A warm cozy bed, and food of my own. My last owner left me alone in the yard... I watched as they moved, and God that was hard. So I waited a while, then went on my way To rummage in garbage and live as a stray. But now, God, I'm so tired and hungry and cold; And I'm so afraid that I'll never grow old. They've chased me with sticks and hit me with straps While I run the streets just looking for scraps! I'm not really bad, God, please help if you can, For I have become just a "Victim of Man!" I'm wormy, dear God, and I'm ridden with fleas; And all that I want is an Owner to please! If you find one for me, God, I'll try to be good. I won't scratch the carpet; I'll do as I should. I'll love them, play with them, and try to obey. I will be so grateful if they'll let me stay! I don't think I'll make it too long on my own, 'Cause I'm getting weak and I'm so all alone. Each night as I sleep in the bushes I cry, 'Cause I'm so afraid, God, that I'm gonna die. I've got so much love and devotion to give That I should be given a new chance to Live! So dear God, please hear me, please answer my prayer, And send me somebody who will REALLY care.

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,
He called it ... Dad

11. Happy Father's Day

A Dad is a person
who is loving and kind,
And often he knows
what you have on your mind.
He's someone who listens,
suggests, and defends.
A dad can be one
of your very best friends!
He's proud of your triumphs,
but when things go wrong,
A dad can be patient
and helpful and strong
In all that you do,
a dad's love plays a part.
There's always a place for him
deep in your heart.
And each year that passes,
you're even more glad,
More grateful and proud
just to call him your dad!
Thank you, Dad...
for listening and caring,
for giving and sharing,
but, especially, for just being you!
Happy Father's Day

16. OUR FATHERS

Our fathers toil with hands and heart
To make our lives complete.
They quietly brave the winter cold,
Endure the summer heat.
Our fathers' lives are busy, but
There's always time for us.
They boldly face the ups and downs
And seldom ever fuss.
Our fathers are the greatest dads.
We know you know this, too.
But thank you for the chance to share
Our love for them with you.

All their love rock-like, steep, and strong.

Halfway home to mothers' bubbling fountains.

Reminding us of bonds that cross a border,
Strengthening our sense of right and wrong
